What Our Clients Are Saying |
I'm never listening to my Career Services Office again!! Not only did they tell me that Philadelphia was such a bad area that I am going to have a hard time finding a job, they also said that instead of paying for a service, I should do this on my own! Ridiculous - you guys did work with my resume and cover letter that I never would have, and it was a lifesaver. I didn't have to try to gather data from places like Martindale every weeknight - you guys just helped me reach 300 employers in less than two weeks! … I've gotten two interviews already, and one of the firms had just lost an associate the day before they got my resume, so they hadn't even started looking for someone and my resume was in the right place at the right time! - David
As a third-year law student, I tried marketing myself and got nowhere. I needed serious help to find a patent job, and my Career Services Office was useless. I used your company to send out 650 letters to patent firms, and I've gotten interviews and serious offers on the table already. - Amy Z.
I was an out-of-work litigator and was desperate. My Legal Authority counselor calmed me down and redid my entire written presentation. I got the interview I sought, and it's right here in Denver. - Jon H.
I recently accepted an attractive offer of full-time employment that, but for Legal Authority, I never would have gotten. After months of trying to work with recruiters to no avail, I tried your service and had an interview scheduled in two days. More followed, including callbacks and a couple of offers. It was nice to be in the position of choosing, and without you I could not have done that. Thank you! - Hannah B.
I mailed about 525 envelopes yesterday, and have already received two calls back from lawyers interested in hiring me. One call led to a temporary research job working with a lawyer, and he has offered me $20 per hour for the job. The typical research clerk positions, suitable for pre-licensed grads, coming off the school job board have been offering like $16 or less. This lawyer who hired me -- after a five minute conversation -- understands that I'm still looking for a permanent job. So this first little legal job comes as a drink of cool water on a desert eve.
So thank you for the help. Legal Authority has factually done more for my career in one day than my law school could do in three years. The law school could easily say, "why don't you apply every year to about a quarter of the legal job market in our area, here's a database with mail merge." But they don't.
The first job is the hardest job to get, and the little break that I needed has already been attained.
Sincere Thanks! - James P.
I was worried that, after paying a grand, I wouldn't get results from mailing 654 letters. Well check this out: I put them all in the mail on Tuesday (9/2), had a call back that Thursday (9/4), an interview that Friday morning and a same-day job offer Friday afternoon (9/5). There were other interviews, but I took the job in securities litigation that I really wanted in the first place. Thanks for your help and your company's service. - Aaron
I mailed my resumes and I have started to get responses. So far: two calls for interviews (yeah!)
Thank you! - Jennifer S.
Thanks to the mailings, I got 6 interviews and 4 offers and I'm still hearing from firms asking for more credentials and interviews. It took some time working with the writer to get the perfect cover letter, but within days of dropping in the mail 500+ letters to San Francisco and Sacramento firms, I began getting calls and emails for interviews.
Choosing two legal markets paid off for me because my first choice city was much less responsive. Within about 7 weeks from dropping the letters in the mail, I accepted an offer from an SF firm where I will be earning more money than I had anticipated.
One hiring partner pointed to the strength of my cover letter in deciding to call me in for an interview, despite his aversion to hiring recent graduates. At least two of the firms that made offers weren't officially hiring.
I almost did not use Legal Authority because I did not have the money for it, and my career services adviser frowned upon large, direct mailings. But the deferred payment option and the prospect of writing hundreds of cover letters while studying for the bar convinced me to try it. The service yielded results I could not get with on-campus interviewing, my adviser's help, or my own small-scale efforts. I would certainly use Legal Authority again, and have recommended it to some of my classmates still looking for jobs out of law school. - T.T.
