Is Public Interest Law for You?
There is a lot to consider before you make the leap. Wanting to help those less fortunate is noble. All religions believe this, and secular society concurs. However, you will be relatively meagerly compensated for your efforts. Many lawyers do pro bono work as a way to give to charity, but their main focus at work is to bill paying clients so that they can make high salaries. While these lawyers are helping a cause occasionally, they are hardly devoting themselves full time to public interest law, and the focus of this article is on those of you who may wish to do so. Thinking About Government Employment?
